Feeling blue? It happens. Sometimes life just gets you down. No wonder some people are so negative. There’s only so much a person can take before they give up and walk away…Don’t be one of those people. When you have a positive attitude, there’s nothing you can’t do. Use these 4 tips on being more positive to feel better right now.
Tip 1: Daily affirmations promote positive thinking
Start and end your days with positive affirmations. Start the day with positive thinking to make sure you’re pumped with good vibes before something bad happens. End the day with positive thoughts to stop any negativity caused by a bad day.
Affirmations work on a daily basis, not once a week or month. Keep up this daily routine until it comes naturally. Finding positive quotes is a great way to build and maintain momentum. There is an endless supply of great quotes out there, so find your favourite resources and refer to them regularly.
Tip 2: Self-hypnosis untaps the power of the mind
Sometimes affirmations and general positive thinking don’t work. There are too many distractions in your day-to-day life. This is when self-hypnosis is perfect. Don’t worry. All you need is a quiet space where you’ll be alone for at least thirty minutes.
Go to your quiet place. Lie down somewhere comfortable like your bed. Alternatively, sit back in a cosy chair with your feet resting flat on the floor. Once again, make sure no one disturbs you. You need peace to fully tap into your subconscious mind.
Loosen up and breathe deeply, but freely. Address your personal problems and feel them slip away. Facing them reveals how small they are in the grand scheme of things. Watch them shrink away into nothing, leaving behind empty space. Now fill this space with positive thoughts. If negativity creeps in, face your fears and watch them slip away again. Then return to positive affirmations. Repeat them until they feel real. See your goals manifest in your mind. Keep saying them again and again until your mind and body are free.
Now you can return to your conscious mind. Open your eyes, stop focusing on your breathing, stand up slowly, and go for success!
Tip 3: Positive thinking stops negative thoughts
Daily affirmations make you feel better within seconds, but what happens when negative thoughts and feelings come naturally? Some people always think positively, but others counter these positive thoughts with negative ones. This isn’t a major problem. It just means you must counter every negative thought with positive ones. Here are some examples: “I can’t do it….Why not? Of course I can!” When you question negativity, positive thinking wins every time. Why? Because negativity is just fear talking. Face your fears.
Tip 4: Surround yourself with success stories
Positive thinking is easier when you’re with positive people. Their success stories give you that much needed boost whenever you’re tempted to give up. If you have Debbie Downers in your circle, it’s time to move on. Your positive thinking won’t work if there’s a negative thinker on the the prowl. Stay with positive, successful people who can teach you how to join them at the top.
Those 4 tips work within seconds to a week. It won’t be easy, but it’s doable. Don’t expect your negative mindset to magically transform into positive thoughts. It won’t. But over time your new mental attitude will take control. Soon you’ll be one of the most positive people you know!
